And we're walking!
Jack is finally walking! He's been able to for awhile, but you could never make him do it. It's always had to be on his own terms, he's very stubborn like his parents :) Something must have clicked with him this past weekend though. He finally stood up, and walked to go pick up his ball, or his truck. Eddie and I just gawked at him the first few times he did it, I think we hadn't realized yet the full implications of his walking at that point. It is just amazing, as a mom, to see your son learning something new everyday. Jack's been utilizing the sign language we taught him regularly now, and if he's done eating he tells me that he is "all done." With the increased mobility has come the realization that he can climb onto pretty much anything. I have a feeling a rearrangement of our living room furniture is in order. I've been pretty allowing of Jack's adventurous climbing, while Eddie tends to be a bit more paranoid. It's understandable, he doesn't want Jack to get hurt, or the furniture to get ruined. I was getting dinner ready tonight, and from the kitchen I hear Jack talking to someone. When I got to the living room, I found that he had climbed up onto the ottoman that was pushed against the wall, and from there gotten onto the second shelf on the wall. He was talking to a picture of me and Eddie. The kid is fearless. I guess I allow it in the hopes that it is helping him learn and grow. We shall see, I'm sure it will bite me in the butt one of these days.

Temper tantrums - oh my!
Eddie's last post was pretty accurate. Lately Jack has been entering the world of temper tantrums. It's very, very trying to deal with. It would be so nice if Jack could just tell us what was bothering him, and why he is acting how he is; but he can't. A week or so ago, we found ourselves smack dab in the middle of molar-itis. I think, for the most part, we're past that. One of his molars has now started cutting through, with a second pretty close. He's been sleeping better and eating better, which makes life so much easier. The last day or two however, he seems to be reverting back to the non-eating, temper tantrum throwing, miserableness that was two weeks ago. His BM issues have been more pronounced lately it seems. He just has the worse time trying to go, which I think just makes him feel like crap. When we took him off of formula shortly after his first birthday, things improved drastically, and I thought that all of our troubles in the BM area were behind us. Not quite so :( I'm not sure if it's diet related? Or if it's just something that he will grow out of? I just know that I don't want to have to depend on giving him prune juice every time he has trouble going. We'll have to talk to his Dr. at his 15 month appointment in a few weeks, and see if there is anything else we can do or try. I hate seeing my lil guy miserable all the time.
Simple recap
Today was good. Jack was super sad about everything. He was happy when I came home, but then he cried about everything. He didn't eat any dinner. We went outside and he was happy for a minute, then he was mad about everything. Then we went on a walk and he was pretty happy because he saw two dogs. We went to the playground but he was pretty sad about just about everything. Then we came home and he took a bath and he was pretty happy. Then we watched Harry Potter and gave him Ibuprofen and Orajel and put him to bed.
